Overview
InstaReels is an autonomous short-form video creation platform. It takes a concept prompt, generates character script dialogues with Gemma via Ollama Cloud, synthesizes audio, renders 1080x1920 video with anchored anime speech bubbles via FFmpeg, and automatically publishes to Instagram via Meta Graph API.
Why I built it
Short-form video creation involves repetitive mechanical tasks (scriptwriting, audio mixing, caption rendering, publishing). InstaReels automates the entire pipeline from idea to live post.
What I was exploring
End-to-end AI video automation, FFmpeg video composition, Ollama Cloud LLM orchestration, and Meta Instagram Graph API v21.0 integration.
How it works
Next.js handles dashboard control and webhooks. Ollama Cloud runs Gemma for script generation. FFmpeg mixes audio tracks, positions speech bubble overlays, and outputs high-quality MP4 reels. Meta Graph API handles automated container upload and publishing.

Interesting problems
Anchoring dynamic speech bubbles above character heads in 1080x1920 video with exact audio synchronization. Navigating Meta API upload timeouts and rate limits autonomously.
What I learned
Automating creative media pipelines requires combining LLMs for dialogue with deterministic media engines like FFmpeg for exact output quality.
Current status
Active — An end-to-end automated platform that generates philosophical Monk & Student dialogues using Gemma & Ollama Cloud, composites 1080×1920 anime-style speech bubbles with FFmpeg, and publishes directly to Instagram Reels.
